Skiing in the French Alps. Booked tix for the family using Chase points a year ago. Booked a great apartment overlooking the slopes and valley six months ago when the FX rate was higher, all day ski school is 70 euros a day for the kids, a French meal delivery service is providing 7 days of meals for 240 euros & we don’t have to cook, fresh bread & pastries delivered every morning to our door, etc. The whole trip - flights, car rental, a week of skiing and lessons for the kids, meals - is like 3500 euros. Best deal I’ve ever scored.

LOL tell us you are not paying attention to what is going on in the US.

DP here. We’re not sending our DD south but you’d be shocked how popular these schools have become with DC area parents who care about their kid’s coolness. UGA, Auburn, Bama, Tennessee, Florida, Clemson and so on. The cool drinking kids all want them.

Really trashy to post something like this at a time when so many in the DC area have been laid off or are facing such uncertainty.

Hope it made you feel good to flaunt how unaffected you are by the chaos the orange idiot has unleashed.

DP. Don’t read the thread. It’s a fun and light thread and good distraction in this time of chaos.

Don't go on the travel board or don't click on this thread if this is a trigger for you.

Mathematically speaking, most people ARE unaffected by this. It doesn’t feel that way if you are affected, but when tons of people were laid off in 2009 the rest of the world didn’t stop spending money to spare their feelings, including all the Feds with secure jobs. This is no different.

Not everyone is going to be affected by Fed layoffs, at least not until they need fed services that are now gone. But everyone will be affected by the tariffs and huge price increases in food and other essentials. Enjoy your trips now, might be the last ones for awhile.

Most people I know will just complain about the extra cost and ultimately change nothing.

A few days in Williamsburg - kids have never been to Busch Gardens. Also visiting one of the colleges DC accepted to in upstate NY.
