The more I think about, the more convinced I am that the Tesla burnings are just one big insurance fraud. Elon isn’t selling his cars, and private sellers aren’t having much luck either because of the widespread perception they are crap cars and Elon has been cutting corners on safety and manufacturing.

Back in my day, when someone was stuck with a worthless insured asset, they’d burn it and collect the insurance money.

The facts to date strongly suggest this is all just another false flag operation from the right. Convince me otherwise.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinions. You can paint Elon/Tesla sucks sign on your driveway too, nobody cares. You can short all your tesla stock and type whatever nonsense you want. As long as you don't torch private property, accost Tesla drivers putting them in dangerous driving situations and causing accidents on the road and don't threaten to vandalize people's cars. When it comes to the stock price the latter right now is causing it to tank. Once this factor is removed it remains to be seen how effective legal boycotting (e.g. not buying the cars) and short selling will be.


I agree that folks should not vandalize. I wanted to point out though that I have had a Tesla for 5 years. I now live in a heavily MAGA area. Before Musk started publicly supporting Trump, I was harassed and almost forced off the road several times. Big pick up trucks block public chargers, etc. I think harassing Tesla drivers is wrong, but it’s rich that MAGA is all of a sudden standing up for us.

I would sell my car and buy another EV but it is worth so little at this point that I’m planning to drive it until it dies, then I will buy a different EV other than Tesla.

I thought only MAGA do conspiracies Yeah, there were tons of proud boys looting and the organizers I saw training under the Brooklyn Bridge when I was in NYC during that time definitely looked like Proud Boys. And they didn't have their little meetings with masks either, so much for the pandemic. Did Proud Boys also buy luxury RE for the BLM founders?
