They've leaked this now to the NYT, NBC and the WSJ.

Musk, according to one person familiar with the arrangements, is receiving the briefing because he asked for one. He has a security clearance but isn’t in the military chain of command or known to be a military adviser to Trump.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that Musk would visit the Pentagon on Friday. In a statement on X, Musk’s social-media site, Hegseth said, “It’s an informal meeting about innovation, efficiencies & smarter production,” denying that the presidential adviser would receive a sensitive China briefing.

In a post on Truth Social on Thursday evening, Trump said that “China will not even be mentioned or discussed” at the Pentagon meeting.

Oh please--if the story is false, why is Musk threatening to hunt the Pentagon leakers down and retaliate so they stop leaking. Poor Musk had to talk about innovation in government instead of hearing all the secret war plans like he wanted to this morning.

Why should we believe anything Trump says? He who said he had no knowledge of project 2025 during the campaign and now his minions are implementing it. The NY Times had it from four sources that the meeting was to occur. I believe them far more than Trump.

I'm totally confused by folks saying whatever is SpaceX clearance is generalizes to everything. There are different types and levels, and being a ketamine user (self admitted) is a disqualifier.


Well that 19 year old DOGE kid Coristine has access to all our tax data from US Treasury. And he was fired from his first job for leaking private company data. There is no way anyone would have granted him a normal security clearance. So clearly security clearances have gone the way of ethics rules and conflict of interest laws in this administration. Which is a dangerous and scary thing.

A clearance doesnt give you access to any and all information. You need the information to be pertinent to your job. You can have a top secret clearance and if you look at things that you dont need to look at, then you can get in trouble. Everyone with a TS doesnt just go into a room and get to read anything they want.

MUSK needs to go.
Trump needs to go but that bar is higher.
