I truly don't understand the concept of needing to wash your swimsuits while on vacation. Just a rinse in the shower is fine! Especially if you're swimming in a chlorinated pool. So weird.

I just swish around in the hotel sink with a bit of liquid hand soap (I always bring this), roll in a towel to squeeze out most of the water), and hang dry on balcony. 2 suits per person, alternating each day.

I would feel dirty re-wearing a suit that has had discharge in it for example, without washing it some sort of way with soap and water. It’s like underwear to me, I don’t re-wear them. You’re using the restroom, wiping, putting the swim suit back on just the same.

Agree. At least wash the bottoms with soap and water while you’re in the shower. Most people are probably showering to get sand or salt off anyway right after a swim or beach trip.

I don't understand the argument that the suits won't dry if you wash them. Did you wear the suit in the pool or ocean? It got wet, right? Why would washing the suit quickly in the sink or shower somehow result in it being wet for days, but wearing it to go swimming wouldn't? The suit is getting wet either way, but if you wash it, it also gets clean. Seems like a no brainer.

There's a difference between wearing a swimsuit all day as underwear versus wearing one for a 45 minute workout and changing straight back into regular clothes.

NP, this thread is about swimsuits worn on vacation. When I were a swimsuit on vacation, I might have it on for 4-6 hours, especially if we go to the beach. If I wore shorts and a t-shirt and underwear to the beach for 6 hours, I wouldn't just put it back in the drawer and then pop that outfit back on the next day without washing it. So I can't imagine doing that with a swimsuit. Pooltime isn't as bad because no sand, but I still rinse out my suits because letting them just dry and absorb the chlorine can make them fade a lot faster. Washing them in the sink with bit of gentle soap and then letting them air dry is more sanitary and also keeps my swimsuits looking good longer.
