I'm not sure what the end goal is here, maybe it's just a form of venting and they dont mean it but frankly it comes off deranged. I dont think the average American feels the same kind of deep seated animosity towards Canadians (or any particular country, for that matter). Has anyone seen this?
It’s terrifying! I wouldn’t travel to Canada right now. It is not safe.

Yes! I actually live abroad (Europe) and it's quite common for me to hear from people how much they love America when I say where I'm from. Of course I also get a good bit of ranting about Trump, people who sometimes dont like America, whatever. I think a bit of polarization is to be expected, but for sure you get plenty of really positive remarks when you say youre American. And I spent a good amount of time in various Eastern Asian countries- it's extremely common there to hear rhapsodizing praise about Americans.
But I mean, some haters are to be expected. It just seems like the Canadians are on another level and are just frothing at the mouth. I find it strange.
You must stick to the tourist areas. Europeans hate Americans. Maybe one day you will wake up to what you Trumpers have done.
Europeans definitely hate Americans. As a Canadian, when I visit Europe, they always give me side eye until they find out I am Canadian. Then they tell me they hate Americans.

I know for a fact that Canadian companies with fixed assets in the United States are actively seeking protections to prevent EXPROPRIATION of their assets. I think there is a non-zero chance that the US also attempts to seize natural resource assets within Canada, as in start a physical land war. This is absolute insanity.
Canadians have a very reasonable right to despise every American right now. This isn't like "oh we feel bad because 2% of federal workers are losing their jobs". This is the first and most outward step in an entire destabilization in the Post WWII global order. And US citizens are just shrugging and think it's trump-being-trump on twitter.
Exactly! Now is not the time to feel sorry for ourselves as Americans and call Canadians who are scared for a very good reason "deranged." It's a time to call your reps, protest, speak out against the Trump regime doing what was unthinkable just a few short months ago.
Trump already called Canada the “51 state,” which means he is going to invade Canada with our military!
As a mother of a 16 year old boy, I am very scared that this lunatic is going to institute a draft to fight with one of our biggest allies.

Trump is planning a military invasion to take over Canada.
No he isnt
Then why are republicans trying to pass bills about not funding military action against allies? Because he’s threatened it to multiple countries, and even his closest advisors know it’s a sh-t move.
plus he said he is going to make Canada the 51s state

Yes, I think it makes perfect sense for Canadians to do this. I follow Louise Penny on Facebook and she had a wonderful post up about how she is not going to go on an American tour this year. She explained it all beautifully, making it very clear it was not against American people.

Every day it seems there is some new, crazy development in the Trump Show's treatment of Canada, and a few of my Canadians do talk about it regularly. Nobody has shown prejudice or anger to me personally, though the Canadians are angry and incredulous at what is happening.
We did start a political cartoon collage wall in the shared kitchen at work, where people have been printing satirical cartoons of Trump from news sources and adding them each morning to the collage. It now covers the entire wall.
My British colleagues are more direct in expressing their disgust at the US government, and they also tend to make disparaging comments about American people specifically, not just our politicians. However, in my many years overseas, the Brits everywhere I meet them have always been like this, so I don't think it is related to current events.
Bizarrely, I have some Chinese colleagues who LOVE LOVE LOVE Trump.

Why do people not think he’s serious?? This is going to happen and tens of thousands will die.
