Trump is really bad at this.

Ukraine clearly won't accept that, so....I guess that puts the US on the other side from Europe as any hostilities intensify.

In return, Russia launched a wave of missiles, among its targets blowing up a Barbados-flagged cargo ship bringing wheat from Odesa to Algeria.

At some point, Republicans need to wake up to the fact that Russia does not negotiate in good faith.
Didn't Ukraine attacked Moscow with drones yesterday during the "ceasefire"? I thought that was a dumb move on their part. What did they expect would happen?
Ukraine was without intel and was getting bombed by Russia when they struck Moscow.
Then the ceasefire happened. Do you know how to negotiate?
DP
I had never heard that Russia agreed to a ceasefire.

I can see why all our former allies are no longer sharing intelligence with the US. The Five Eyes program is dead. Even the Israelis have stopped sharing information with the US.
Yes. And while the US shut off Ukraine's access to intelligence during Russia's offensive in Kursk, they also made it impossible for Ukraine to use important weapons systems like the HIMARS and F-16s. Republicans are doing an excellent job of destroying the US defense industry. When countries buy weapons from the US, the need to rely on 30 years or so of support, from software updates to maintenance to ordinance. And the US can no longer be relied upon. Portugal already cancelled its order for F-35s. Canada is rethinking its purchases. And Europe just committed to investing $870 billion in its own defense industries rather than rely on the US. Republican moves to undermine the use of American weapons by its allies is going to cost this country trillions over the next couple of decades.
We are not worried at all. They will still buy from us.
Europe can’t afford $870 billion in defense spending. Where is the money going to come from? They will have to make massive cuts on welfare and social benefits. This will not go well.
You should be worried. EU can borrow money. Germany is removing “debt breaks” for defense spending.
Taking more debt for defense spending is economic suicide for the EU. Germany is going into a recession. Time will tell if EU citizens are comfortable with the sacrifices required.

^ I guess unless one of two things, neither of which seems very likely:
- Putin is more tired of being at war than he lets on and is just looking for a face-saving way to get out, or
- Putin is actually afraid of what happens if the Europeans get more involved
Otherwise, what's in it for him?

Russia only produces 300-500 tanks a year. This is 3-4 times their loses. In the past 3 year Russia has produced 3 jet fighters. They have been losing fighters at 3-12 a months. Russia will be unable to carry out offensive operations by early 2026.
The US military complex is taking a huge hit as Europe plans to spend billions on production in Europe and move away from US military equipment and systems. Australia is in negotiations to buy French subs and cancel buying US nuclear subs. The cost for US weapons system has increased significantly because the cost will be the US’s a lone. Look at stock prices of US defense contractors vs Europe’s.
Ukraine destroyed two Russian armies and all their equipment 10,000 tanks and 850,000 dead Russians. The Russians did not accomplish any of their objectives.
Russia is not a superpower. Has not been one since the 1980’s. Russia GDP is 2 trillion. The Europe’s GPD is 25 trillion.
Good luck with your Russian propaganda.
According to you Ukraine won and Russia lost. Why is Ukraine negotiating then?
If Russia is so weak, why aren't the Europeans crushing the Russian army and ending this war?
Maybe believing your nonsense makes you feel good. I feel sorry for you.
If not for the U.S. Ukraine would not have survived this long. It's only resulting in more lives lost. Trump is right about that. If they can't negotiate we need to get out of there. Zelensky should have taken the first deal, big mistake.
Why would you assume Putin will stop killing Ukrainians just because the war ends?
