I think it would be very enlightening to know where Barron Trump was rejected. Everything is personal with this family. So far, everything Trump does can be explained by vengeance, retribution, vanity, and greed. I would not be surprised at all if there is a Columbia denial at the root of this.

Of course it doesn't help that Columbia is a cartoon of progressive excess so it is a very easy target if you want to highlight far left extremism in academia. Going after Columbia does not hurt Trump politically at all. Masked students chanting "We are Hamas" and "Death to the Zionist State" are a PR nightmare for Columbia. Those student protesters were a gift to the Republican Party and it's not surprising at all that conservatives are going after Columbia.

These schools are very wealthy, they don’t need more money. They have an endowment.
Let’s use the money on poorer schools instead

+1. My in-laws are all Jewish in various degrees of observance. My spouse is not religious but still considers himself Jewish. And the general consensus is that Israel has the right (and the imperative!) to exist and to defend itself. And also that Netanyahu and the West Bank settlers do Israel no favors. But that Hamas/Iran/etc are to blame here.

The ratio of dead civilians on either side tells a different take. No one who kills twenty-five times more people than, as retribution, has the moral high ground.

What happened on Oct 7th what truly horrific. But Israel lost the moral high ground since. It's really sad, because they had all the free nations of the world on their side in the aftermath of Oct 7th, DESPITE oppressing the Palestinians for decades.
