Are you OP? Do you plan to stay on the GLP-1 indefinitely? Something to keep in mind- I asked on a separate thread whether I could use a semi-glutide to kick start weight loss and then go off it but maintain a reduced eating plan to keep the weight off, and most responders said that as soon as they went off the semi-glutide, they regained the weight, even if their eating stayed reduced.

I'm 10 days into a new routine of walking, weights, biking, and a low dose of GLP-1, and I'm down 4 pounds and feeling great. If I maintain the plan, I should be able to drop 15 pounds by June.

+1 - I've tried diets- lost 6 or 7 lbs by being pretty hungry most of the time (via WW and many different diet plans and lots of exercise) only to end up gaining it back. I've lost 12lbs on Semaglutides and it makes me want to eat less.

It sounds like you have all the knowledge to eat properly, in a deficit, but your snacking is what is sabotaging any weight loss. The thing that works for me (I am in the same boat as you and started eating better about a week ago) is to have things to snack on that are low calorie. Things that work for me are:
-grape tomatoes
-sliced cucumber
-mini bell peppers
-sugar snap peas
-toasted seaweed (try to avoid seed oils in general, I like the ones with Avocado oil)
-lesser evil popcorn

Hope this helps!

I am with you on having a hard time mindlessly eating all night long. A couple of little things that have helped me a different points. Keeping sugar-free gum, nearby is helpful and I chew on that when I feel tempted to eat a snack. I used teeth whiteners over two week. One time and I did that after dinner and so then I was not wanting to eat after I use that. everyone else has offered good other suggestions that are healthier like going outside and walking, finding things to do with your hands, such as knitting, doing a puzzle whatever

Bone broth is better for you than plain tomatoe soup.

Ideally, I’d like to lose all 20lb, but I’d be pleased if I could lose 15lb by June, which would have me feeling confident and motivated to lose the extra 5+.

I know protein is key, cutting sugar, upping water and fiber, more movement. My main problem is emotional eating in the afternoon and evenings.

I do light-moderate cardio (brisk walking outside) and moderate outdoor biking once it’s a little warmer.

I lift weights at the gym for about an hour, 3-4 days a week, but could implement some light at-home workouts if you think I need more.

It’s worth noting that I am NOT a fan of breakfast. I just don’t enjoy eating breakfast for the sake of eating. I typically have a Greek yogurt around 10am, which is when I am finally hungry, then a protein shake after, around 11-12, and then a light lunch around 2, usually something like cottage cheese with grilled chicken or chicken cold cuts and veggies. I prefer smaller snacks like this as opposed to meals. I have an actual dinner at 6. I head to bed around 10pm. I tend to do my mindless snacking between 7-9pm, and I hate this.

I’m really motivated to have a plan and make this happen. I’d love any advice you can give me!

This is what has worked for me.

I make a big pressure cooker full of tomato soup every single day. 5 cups of water, 5 beefsteak tomatoes, 1 big onion, 10 garlic cloves, spoonful white vinegar, salt, 1/2 tsp sugar, black pepper, 1 tsp butter. No other cream, flour, croutons etc. Cook sliced onions and garlic in butter until it browns a bit, add rest of the ingredients and pressure cook it for 10 minutes. Let it cool and blend with immersion blender. You can drink as it or strain it in a strainer to get rid of the tomato seeds and skin. Adjust the seasoning.

Throughout the day, as you feel the need to drink tea, coffee or snack - you just sip on this soup. You will not gain weight even if you are drinking it from 7 to 9.

Oh god. Every day? I can see doing this every week to have for lunch (with somethign else light?) or before dinner to fill up. But you're eating this flavorless doup all day? Are you eating? My god.

DP, but I think this poster doesn't drink tomato soup all day. She drinks it when she's looking for a cup of coffee or a snack. If she drinks it instead of tea or coffee, it helps fill her up. If she's hungry for a snack, it's a low calorie option. She still eats normal meals.
