Exactly, curriculum is handled at the local level. DoEd handles funding for special needs and education grants. Shuttering DoEd will make schooling harder for kids with disabilities and poor/middle class kids to go to college. But MAGA doesn’t value college so they don’t care where their kids end up.

It is being done this way so if there is blowback, the techbros will go to prison not Musk. Guys in their late teens-early 20s are generally impulsive and lack the executive function to think things through.
