80% of federal employees and contractor are not in the DMV but the DMV is going to get f’ed including house prices. The whole country is going to burn. Between the tariffs and the destruction of the US government we are talking about a direct impact on 45-55% of the GDP. It will take years for this to settle out.
Republicans are morons. At least they’ll be suffering along with the rest of us.
and Dems are woke pxxxxes

This. Sorry but I’ve had to endure endless uncertainty in the true private sector giving half my paycheck to the government grift. I’m glad they are cleaning house (and I went door to door for Obama)
So what exactly do you do in the private sector that is so groundbreaking?
Does it really matter? Our taxes are supporting federal salaries, so if moves need to made to cut dead weight and ensure productivity so be it. Tired of the RTO whining….many of us in private sector have had to go back much earlier then federal employees.
I'm in the private sector, FWIW. But my company will be impacted by government cuts. And I have been back in the office since summer 2021.
Almost no jobs are in the “true private sector.” Government funding touches everything in some way, even if you don’t see it directly.
And when all these people lose their highly paid jobs and are no longer spending on private sector goods and services, then where will you be?
No one right now can be smug and think they are safe. No one.

Very little of the defense industry is actually in the DMV…it’s all over the country in many red states and red areas. Yes, you have Boeing HQ and other HQs.
As an example, there is a PA factory in a deep red area supplying a ton of munitions for the Ukraine. If that plant is closes, it will devastate that area.
Yes, just like when other types of factories close. I don't understand the logic here... we should keep paying for things we don't need because people might lose their jobs. Meanwhile, we keep going into further debt, and the cost of debt service goes up, making the cost of borrowing for everything else more expensive and resulting either in further debt or further tax hikes. Try to think back to your college Econ class.

What about DOD research?
That's 99% of dod waste. I worked there and it was all scams about innovation, next generation war fighter total garbage , DARPA as well
Agreed. They call in consultants and contractors to do the day to day technical work for these proposed innovative plans , while the feds get promotions off the backs of their efforts without knowing much at all.
Why didnt you all get Fed jobs if they are so awesome?
lol I decided to jump to another private company for double the compensation. Not including the sign on and refresher RSUs. I still will not ever forget how smug and entitled our Fed clients were for deliverables they never implemented. The executive orders are long overdue.
