Alabama schools have way more AA students than any northern Virginia school.

That other poster is just making up things.

Don't buy into the FCPS hype. There are dozens of HS between Richmond and Hampton Roads that can go toe to toe with your typical above average FCPS HS. If you are not tied to a job keeping you locked down to NoVA then you can get a better house in a HS that won’t change its boundary, and your kid will oftentimes have a better outcome for college admissions. Yes, it is true your kid will feel a little more shock from college academic rigor depending on the school, but it’s easy to overcome. Source: attended a rural high school and graduated from UVa with tons of TJ students, have met many FCPS students who had better HS bona fides and went on to JMU, VT, VCU. Also I would argue I had a much better high school quality of life/mental health outcome compared to your average FCPS student.

We effed of to Goochland County. Stunning house, great neighbors, reasonable priced and strong private schools.

Had to get away from druggy, chaotic, and decaying public schools. Sad to see the educational crown jewel of the Commonwealth in such decline but maybe some miracle will take place.

OP, I have to say that I’m confused by a complaint about bureaucracy without mention of your kids and their actual schools.

Is the former causing problems for the latter, or is this a case of what you’re choosing to focus on?
