It will go to litigation and be overturned. Blatantly unconstitutional.

Someone had to invest the money in the attorney. You are usually talking $15-20 k first a good federal employment lawyer to take a case. Government employees are not great with money and also tend to be passive compared to private sector employees. They are all sitting around waiting for someone else to do something.

If you work for USAID and have the resources you need to hire a private attorney to get this case in front of a judge.

It’s not that government employees are passive. Many of them are preoccupied with watching porn during work hours.

And to clarify, I don't mean they are passive from the standpoint of tolerating abuse. They fight against abuses. However nusr are passive financially compared to private sector employees because they take it for granted they are getting a paycheck every two weeks.

Private sector people know they can be fired any day of the week for any reason so they tend to be more active about planning for that contingency.

Yes forcing your way into a federal agency and then taking it over is terror.

This is the democratic will of the people. Even the liberal press isn't covering this as a five alarm fire. It's well below the fold on Drudge. It sucks for the employees, but it's being met with a collective shrug.

It's not the democratic will of most voters, even Trump ones. And there are ways to do things and this is not the way.

The papers don't know how to handle the seriousness of this without sounding like crackpots because everything that is being done is literally insane and unbelievable.

These things are a big deal.

It appears to be bumbling in execution, but Biden wasn’t exactly a light hand, either:

“On President Biden’s first day in office, he shut down the Keystone XL pipeline and eliminated 11,000 good paying American jobs with the stroke of a pen.”

So uninformed.

President Joe Biden canceling the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline did lead to hundreds of job losses, but most of those jobs were temporary.

The pipeline would have created only 35 long-term jobs
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/jul/21/tim-michels/end-keystone-pipeline-did-cost-jobs-most-were-temp/

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) conducted a report on the cancelation and found the pipeline was expected to create about 50 permanent jobs once it was operational. The information included estimates that construction of the pipeline would support between 16,000 and roughly 60,000 temporary jobs. However, the report found some estimates overstated jobs because they included jobs outside the United States

So temporary, mostly physical jobs for 1-2 years. Of course those are less valuable than chair warmers at USAID.
And didn't this forum have a number of topics complaining that USAID is toxic, disorganized, a mess?

So you agree that what Elon and Trump are doing is bad, right? Nothing you’ve said disputes that.
New broom situation is not unique. Heavy handed, badly planned -yes.

So you agree it’s bad.

Not necessarily.
Was US exit from Afghanistan necessary?
Was it executed badly?
If effort toward a good goal is botched and hurts a bunch of people, is the effort good or bad?

It’s weird you keep bringing up stuff that isn’t about USAID. Why won’t you just say whether you think what Musk is doing is acceptable or legal?

You are an @ss peddling stereotypes.

No, I am a government employee, and I have seen it over and over at my work that people expect the union to help them and do not have the resources for private attorneys. You can call me an ass if you want but I have seen it dozens of times.

I do know someone who successfully challenged a termination but he spent about $50k for his representation.

Who is laughing now? A bunch of civil servants were mocking DOGE and Musk in it's early days thinking the whole DOGE thing was a joke that would never materialize.

Do not underestimate someone who is mean and has malicious intent.

Yet again we see the consequences of citizens United brought to us by SCOTUS
