Trump didn't get the majority of votes and was very far from the "majority of the country".
The orange trd got 49.8% of votes (vs. 48.3%)
~30% of possible voters
~23% of the country
Trump got an outright majority on election day. Democrats just kept producing votes for the next month to flip it to plurality.
It’s probably a bit too complicated for you to understand, but it takes time to count votes. You don’t just stop when it suits you, as the maga people tried with the “stop the count” idiocy.

Somehow Biden won 2020 without carrying many bellwether counties. Trump carried those counties in 20 and 24. Biden won because of extremely high turnout in places like Philadelphia...You know the places where they put up barriers when they did the counting.

Trump never produced any credible evidence that 2020 was rigged. In fact, a common Republican tactic is to accuse their opponent of the exact thing that they’re doing in secret, in the hopes of pre-discrediting them before they come back with the receipts. It’s straight from the Karl Rove playbook.
And the data didn’t show anything unusual in 2020. Or even 2016 when Trump won. The data IS unusual for 2024.

I reminded him there were at least two parties on the ballot, although he did say people he talked to said she didn't seem to know anything or have any plans. I was pitching for her and also realize the situation was a bad deal for her (I don't know who she would have been as a candidate in a different situation, but I do think she had a lot of strengths in her background) but I do realize "nothing comes to mind" was a very very bad campaign line.
None of this excuses the electorate as a whole, though.
Np. It kills me how “nothing comes to mind” was the most controversial thing she said on the campaign trail. Trump said and did so many outrageous things and none got more attention than this. It’s not an easy question to answer in that situation. Any answer would have been used against her and him.

I guess the sickest part of this all is that somehow we were beaten by a bunch of red staters that read at the sixth grade level. Though, I do think that it will eventually be proven that there was vote manipulation. I so dearly hope that the voting machine data files are backed up and safe.

Harris was not a horrible candidate. She was a VP thrown into a very difficult position after an unfit incumbent backed out of the race at the last minute. If you want to place blame for the Trump 2nd term debacle, blame Joe Biden.
