DC Fire and EMS tweeted about their initial response and called it a "small plane." Since it was an official source and on the record early, lots of news picked that up.

The helicopter was not on radar. It might have had call sign PAT. PAT = priority air transport, military VIP flight.

So idiotic and selfish to take a helicoptor from Langley to dca
