These were specialists that are assigned groups of schools to check periodically if their security is up to standards, support schools, be there for issues and emergencies, and mentoring.

Looking more into this but it doesn’t sound good

Why did you copy and paste a tweet moderately moco from Jan 30?

Jones responded, "New proposed budget, these positions are being repurposed and there is a plan to have security assistants at elementary schools. Dr. Taylor’s request for 52 additional SA positions to assist."

Good because the periodic 3 hour stints at elementary schools every other week isn't that helpful. A steady presence is what's needed as the climate gets more difficult.

Unlike many unions who support the welfare of the teachers MCEA is a unique union that will work with admin to make sure that you work more and more overtime as they make your job unsecure and ignore the violence that is ubiquitous in mcps

Watch the board meeting from last week. It’s in the presentation the superintendent emailed out as well. All staffing allocations will be emailed to principals by 3/6 and hiring for the newly restructured positions will be done by certain targeted dates (listed in the presentation). There is no hiring freeze mentioned

What principal would want to work for this company?

The deadline to notify involuntary transfers has not changed, they made it sound like a matchmaking system might be taking place with cuts from CO.

School based transfers are based on enrollment, not tied to this at all.

I would think that many of the CO staff will be looking for admin positions.

Do the central office involuntary transfers get to interview for school based jobs before school based involuntary transfers hear anything, or will there be no school based involuntary transfers?

This sounds like a freeze; like last year when the virtual academy employees were involuntary transferred.

I heard principals aren’t getting this yet due to the reshuffling of CO.

Isn't the reshuffling taking effect on July 1?

That is the new hires official start date. There are positions to fill from central office involuntary transfers that will need to go somewhere.
