It is listed as GP/M. That means it is a grade preparation day that can also be used as a makeup day. Why list it as a possible makeup and then NOT use it if needed?
It’s not needed yet. We only have one day to make up so far.
The days are listed in the order in which they will be used. The June dates are always used first.

+1

After closing schools for 3 days after a snow - for no reason at all, they now want another day off?
Awful. Embarrassing. Idiots. Morons.
Can someone sign an executive order to fire all the people in charge at MCPS?
Bad news for you: FCPS is doing it too. So the two largest systems in the area are doing it... maybe just suck it up like the rest of us.
Anonymous wrote:OP here. Congrats to seemingly everyone who is not impacted by all of MCPS's totally unnecessary snow days and various other BS days off
I guess only a minor few of us, maybe only me, have to deal with incredible stress because of MCPS' idiotic snow policies. F MCPS!!

Because it is arguably the worst makeup day to use, due to the end of the first semester.

Anonymous wrote:OP, this is not about MCPS. This is about you being stretched too thin and stressed out. I don’t know if it’s a financial issue or other issue but you really should take a beat and examine why you don’t have the resources to manage when the schools close for a couple of days. It sounds like you have a job with no flexibility, no family or neighborhood suooort, no money to throw at the problem….is that right? If so, I’m really sorry but that’s not really a sustainable way to raise a family. You need to have some type of wiggle room. Because sh-t happens.
