Right. They should not have done it in the first place but given they announced it 2 days ago they should have just kept it knowing they announced it early so that parents could make plans. Changing things around at the last minute and then claiming it's a moment of joy is disrespectful to thousands of families.
Yep, after parents already rescheduled everything

+2. I don't care if they have a delay tomorrow or not but why announce it on Tuesday for Thursday? Especially for "cold". Just announce Wednesday and wait until today to make a call for Thursday.

And MCPS calls it a moment of joy.
Clowns
Two in ES? Get used to it it's the largest school district in MD.

Should they probably have said "We anticipate a delay will be needed on Thursday but will assess and confirm Wednesday afternoon"? Yes. But generally speaking I'm good with how things were handled.

Yup. Worse than usual even for MCPS.

Agree. They messed up so bad yesterday, most high schools canceled sports practices that didn’t need to be and teens were already going home before MCPS changed the error.
Whoever decides who writes, edits, and submits these notifications needs to be fired.
You're looking at Taylor, Essie and Cram.
Don’t forget Dana Edwards!

The explanation is that administrators and central office staff wanted a two hour delay themselves.

Anyone know if weather related delays also overlapped with any homeland alerts that may have been issued for the area (for obvious reasons such as last weekend and this week's events)?
