I don't know Chief Crowley personally; but she comes across as a very intelligent, sincere, and honest person. I believe her and think she's telling the truth.
Same here. Compare her to Bass who was blaming everyone else. Politicians have to make tough decisions and there are always chances they will be wrong. When you make a mistake, admit it, explain the reasons n if you like, but ultimately you are responsible for the decision even if you knew it was bad.

California has a $68-73 billion dollar deficit depending on the news source. Where is the money going to come from to rebuild? The population is taxed out. Insurance companies were already paying more out than they were collecting in premiums, and those were set to go up 40-60 percent before the fires.

Don’t be absurd. This has been a wildfire hot spot for over a hundred years. The difference is the amount of people living in the area, the value and amount of properties being built, and poor wildfire management. It’s not climate change’s fault that the power lines were kept on in the middle of wind gusts, that the number of firefighters has dropped, that the water reservoirs were out of operation, that people have been caught deliberately starting and trying to start more fires.

Careful. There will be a full public accounting of whether the reservoirs were full and whether brush was cleared in the wooded areas. I agree. And she could easily have been fired for speaking the truth here.
I believe her AND she has receipts. She wrote a memo complaining about budget cuts prior to this. Why would she do that if it isn't true?
