They probably will but it will be stupid. FCC is opening on time. ACPS is 2 hour delay. DC was open today. We’re much more comparable to these jurisdictions than Fairfax and Loudoun. Just because the boonies are icy doesn’t mean our kids shouldn’t be able to make it to school. I was out several times today and it was totally fine. Some snow plowed to the side of the streets, but otherwise ok.

No way APS backtracks if DC, falls church and Alexandria open. And dc was open today.

You have way more confidence in APS than I do, but I hope you’re right.

I tried to tell you, but how much mental energy did you use on being negative and trying to find evidence that they would cancel? SMH.

Not getting my hopes up isn’t the same as expending negative mental energy.

I’ve just been around long enough to have an I’ll believe it when I see it mindset for a lot of stuff APS says.

And I like APS over all. But I know how things roll sometimes.

Did you see the picture of a few snow patches in an otherwise plowed parking lot that some anonymous APS employee just posted in AEM? I really believe some people are too precious to drive again until everything is melted away.

Somehow all the Amazon drivers and grocery store workers and fed employees (yesterday when OPM opened) etc. manage to function, but this person (who clearly made it safely to work and was able to post) just cannot believe they had to go in today. 2 hours late mind you.

I can’t believe this ridiculousness is getting any support from commenters.

Get off of the site and go shovel your GD sidewalks! I am driving around and reporting everyone of you that has not shoveled and you will get a fine. I will keep doing this every day until you shovel. Terrible neighbors that you are. Only care about daycare for your kid, but don’t care that other children can get a concussion from falling and cracking their head on your icy Sidewalks because you’re too busy sitting behind a keyboard being a Internet warrior. Look how good going to school did for you

Man, I’m confused. Where did all the parents gloating and shrieking “get back to work, teachers!” about their supposed two hour delayed opening go? 😂

We were about to get all our kids back to school in FCC…but Oak St (3-5 elementary) flooded this AM and is now closed.

PS- if you really want your kids school open, help neighbors shovel.

The ones I saw are still sketchy. Fine for my SUV mid day but I think buses may have issues.

Buses go down cul de sacs?

The comment was about neighborhood streets.

I feel the same way about the excited FCCPS opening on time announcement. No need for the caps and ! They are too much.

Some of you people will complain about anything.

Maybe so. Are they the only district opening on time?
