Athletics isn't that important. The coaches pretty much get who they get. It's D3 and the athletes need to be at the median.

Per the CDS. 25% percentile is a 1520. And ~9% had an ERW score of 700 or less, so even if 800 math, 9% of the class is at 1500 or less. 1550 is the median. Given an athletic recruit is hooked and the above info, I wouldn’t think a 1570 is true for them. It’s not true for half the class. Also, in my area (not in DMV) I have heard 700 min for math to be considered viable for recruiting (rowing, in the case).
