I really like her in The Other Woman with Natalie Portman. She is a good dramatic actress as well.

In Friends? If so, it's a strange comment. She is less than a year older than Courtney Cox, and only a couple years older than David Schwimmer. They were all within a 5ish year range.

I think they were older than their characters were supposed to be, though - 23-24ish. Aniston and Perry were closer to that age. They all turn 30 in season 7.

I am another one who thinks Lisa Kudrow is brilliant !

But she specializes in playing neurotic characters you'd never really want to be involved with. Some actors do that and know what they are best at. I've only ever seen Laura Dern play a very similar character with great success, but Dern diversifies her roles.

I've only ever seen Kudrow doing the cringe parts as a staple of her career.

I just about gave myself a stitch watching Valerie's "scenes" from The Traitors on S3. I'm so glad I binged that show in March so I immediately got every single sight gag there, including the Dorinda and outfit jokes.

Kudrow is a treasure. And it seems she's also universally well liked by her peers. (At least I've never seen anything to the contrary)

Also Web Therapy which was a Showtime series based on a series of internet shorts she created around a therapist character. So funny.

Kudrow is also has a super low key and by all accounts happy marriage to a non-Hollywood guy. They've been together for 30 years. So staying out of the limelight seems to have worked out very well for her.


I found The Comeback so incredibly painful to watch!

But I love LK - and totally agree that while it must have stung in her 20s not to be considered as beautiful as her co-stars, it's probably overall a much better life. She gets to age more normally, gets to work a good amount still, has never really been the subject of incredible gossip (I'll bet she can even go out to dinner or to, like, Target without causing a stampede). Seems ideal. A working actor with plenty of money and a good marriage, whose career doesn't live or die on how she looks in a bikini.


Agree 100%. I think she is not conventionally beautiful, but was very cute as Phoebe and she aged naturally and nicely. No shade!

The Comeback is coming back again, FYI. We just watched the first season for the first time ever (didn’t have HBO then) and it’s so good. Has the same uncomfortable factor as The Office at the beginning and just like Steve Carell she’s so likable and Kudrow is so good that she wins you over. And she was by far my least favorite character on Friends.

Back again having finished the second season which was even better than the first. On to the new episodes!

I love her - she has done a lot of great indie films and The Comeback is brilliant. I loved her in Clockwatchers (a must watch for anyone who was ever a temp).
