I'm a moderate Democrat and support a lot of his policies - better border control and harder on crime (including petty theft). I also want him to leave alone Obamacare, benefits like SS/Medicare and other social programs, and increase taxes to balance the budget. I'm also not White and continue to be wary of his racist rhetoric.
Now that he's won with broad support, he has a once in a lifetime opportunity - pivot towards the middle, do what's necessary for the real majority in the country, and become of the greatest presidents. This would also help ensure Republican victory for a very long time. Not very hopeful however.. Trump already had this opportunity during Covid and BLM to show leadership in that direction and miserably failed.

He did not win "broad support." He won racists and sexists.

Trump was a total disaster his first term.

He is already failing bigly.

I was appalled last time. This time I am cheering him on as he destroys his loyal cult followers.

It's going to be glorious when he strips everything from them. Health care, social security, their pensions, their jobs.

They will find a way to blame Democrats.

Democrats ran a poor campaign based on whether voters would hate Trump. It was the same in 2016 and didn't work.

Those democrats are foolish and short sighted. It's incredible that in their position of comfort, wealth, and education, they cannot think intelligently, but they expect poorer, less educated people to be smarter.

People voted Trump because they are fed up with our society, and they are desperate for change. If Trump is as bad as we think he is, society only gets worse.

What do these successful democrats think happens when society gets worse? There will be more shootings of successful people in the streets.

Democrat here, and I loathe Trump with every fiber of my being. I don’t want him to be successful in the things he is proposing, because it is insane. I want him to somehow, miraculously, be a good president. Because when tge president fails, the country fails. So I am never going to hope for a bad president. But I have zero faith in him being a halfway decent president. He hasn’t been good at anything in his life and has no clue how our government functions.

Maybe I would agree with the concept of letting Trumpers learn their lesson, but it doesn’t work that way with them. The worse Trump gets, the more they project and blame on the democrats. No matter how blatantly Trump fails them, they will never blame him. Even with hardly a democrat in sight, they will blame them.

There would be overwhelming bipartisan support for a heavy crackdown on violent crime - including the thugs that are shoplifting every CVS and Walgreens. Only the progressives are cheering for the carjackers and thieves, and that's one of the reasons Democrats lost. And included in that, there would be great enthusiasm for expelling the 400,000 illegal migrants that have committed crimes in this country.

But health care is the quiet third rail in politics. As the murder of the United Healthcare CEO demonstrated, there is a broad nationwide, bipartisan loathing of the private insurance companies in this country. Optimistically, I like to think that event might behoove Republicans to develop a plan that actually helps working and middle class Americans. Health care in the US hasn't been discussed by Democrats in a decade. They foolishly abandoned the issue. There's a lot of space for Trump to be the hero, and hopefully he seizes on that and makes non-employment based healthcare accessible for working and middle class Americans. Can you imagine how many businesses would be launched if people didn't have to worry about losing mediocre health insurance? The economy would be a rocket ship if we could detach health insurance from corporate employment.
