+1. I don’t understand the complaining. The Opens are run differently than private invitationals. If it’s too expensive for your taste your kid doesn’t have to swim and you don’t have to buy merch.

For those of us who didn't have kids in this meet, how did PM nickel and dime?


But they didn’t have to charge anything. There is no fee at PVS Champs, at a much bigger, nicer, and I’m assuming more expensive facility.


NCI is 25, with guaranteed fee parking on Friday if you can find it. Plus more money for programs. It's just how these meets are.

Well - if you volunteered instead of sitting in the stands, you would have gotten $10 back at least on Friday and Saturday. Seriously, these kids are in $300- $600 kneeskins. You can fork over $15 in meet fees. Don't buy the t-shirt or the sweatshirt. Your kids got a chance to swim fast meet and make cuts for higher level championship meets. If $15 for a 3 day meet matters to you, you are in the wrong sport.

This just isn’t true. My 10 yr old swam 1 relay and 3 events at prelims on Sunday and results came through meet mobile pretty quickly. One event he swam, I got up from stands to go to lobby for fresh air and before I even got to the door to leave the results had already come through.

$80 for most swimmers to participate. $10 swimmer meet entry fee and $10 per individual event. Most teams make all swimmers commit to 8 events (for sake of scoring points).

I’m sure the PP is referring to spectator fees, ridiculously expensive t shirts and sweatshirts, paid parking if lots were full (which I realize is not their fault but happened everyday bc the first session was delayed and swimmers were arriving for the 2nd before first group left), etc.
