IF anyone wants to make a present this year, please consider coming to the Art & Craft Supply thrift store run by BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, MD. They offer pay what you can pricing for all of their art & craft supplies/tools and equipment. The next sale is 12/14 from 2-6:30 at BlackRock. You'll find items you can't find in stores (vintage, antique, some of them created by artist but unfinished). Happy shopping and making!! Direct any questions to CRC@blackrockcenter.org and thanks!

Has anyone been to the one in Baltimore? It looks legit!

Also - to those asking what makes the European markets special...it's the ice rinks, the ferris wheel, the mulled wine, the general good spirits! To be clear, Europe has a ton of crappy weekend "craft fairs" too - but the ones that are built for the season (4 weeks or so) - Cologne, Strasbourg, Ghent - really amazing.

Anonymous wrote:Exactly. I'm the PP about DC being a depressing creative place. Exactly because anyone would think Smithsonian has great museums. You really have not been anywhere if that's what you think. That they are free is awesome but do not pretend they are great.

Now the Chicago and NYC museums....

If you don't get the difference you are definitely a boring person.

And if you can't appreciate all of the above for what they offer, you're missing out. But here's your head pat, you sophisticate, you.
