+1
I am one of the feds who will supposedly come “revitalize” DC. Except that my office is old, decrepit, and in a sketch area. There are a) no decent lunch places or coffee shops within walking distance (assuming any of us actually would decide to spend money there) and b) none of us feel very safe walking around the area.
Sorry, but fed employees aren’t going to fix the root issues.
Crime of all kind in DC has been dropping precipitously and continues to drop. You have no idea what you’re talking about. There’s a thing called Google where you can actually find the statistics. You might want to try it.

And she’s aligning with the incoming administration? Has she lost her mind? I’m angry at this. I just want to vent. Why are feds always targeted unfairly for everything?

The mayor is advocating for her city. Plain and simple.
She’s advocating for Trump to reign in Federal workers. The problem with making such requests to Trump is that it is much more likely that if you convince him to take any action at all on Federal workers aside from just ignoring them, the outcome is likely to be bad for both the workers and DC. She’s better off just keeping her head down, but she cannot seem to help herself and wants to Peacock, apparently trying to instigate a showdown with Trump that will raise her profile.

She might as well have kept her mouth shut. Remote work will probably be curtailed under Trump. Depending on their agencies, federal workers have greater worries than losing remote work, as big an adjustment as that may be.
Basically, feds will live from office. Isn't this what workers did before work from home - never make it home? Didn't those prez-elect family also work from "home" - their T tower, living on a few floors and working out of the other floors?

There's nothing wrong with downtown. Grow up.
