No offense, but 1280 is very very low for an admit to UVA.

Nope - you have no idea what you are talking about. She is in!
You could make up literally anything (if you are even that poster) and you also never answered if the score was submitted and if the applicant was URM/FirstGen/hooked in any way. Very telling.
The bottom 25th percentile us where the hooked kids are
Yes, and you have NO IDEA how low it goes below the reported 25th number. I used to work in admissions.

4 EA acceptances with GPA 97-98 (out of 100) and SAT scores of 1530-1570.
2 EA acceptances with GPA of 94-95 and TO
1 RD acceptance with GPA of 94 and 1550 SAT
Only 1 or 2 of these kids ended up going to UVA.
SAT mostly seems to be mid 1500s
This is why we need to get rid of TO. The reported scores are totally unrealistic of who is actually attending.
SCHEV doesn't lie
Who said anything about lying? Something like 60% of scores are not being reported at all. Its not an accurate picture. It doesn't mean someone is "lying."
+2 The test scores are for those submitted.[url] A majority of the kids are TO and they have much, much lower scores or they would have submitted. DC’s friend attends UVA, got in TO and couldn’t crack 1200 on the SAT. 3 tries.

where did you hear that?
President Ryan's speech last week.
From Nov 8th? It's not in the transcript.
11/14 -- was at his DC event -- heard it live (and my husband looked at me and said -- don't tell our kid)!
So 5000 more than early last year. Not a huge difference.

Do you mind sharing school name ?
Was his stats in the green area of his schools scattergram if you checked or was this an exception?
My son applied ED to UVA on 11.1.24 and I think is being overly confident at being accepted.

He's so positive and I'm the negative Nilly. He's ok with Tech but LOVES UVA, he felt something there while visiting. I'm trying to stay hopeful for him but his GPA isn't where it should be for UVA.
McLean/Langley. His stats were on the borderline between green and red so we were surprised he got in.
I provide this information to counter the endless posters who say that you need a 4.0 UW GPA, 4 years of foreign language and Calc BC or 12+ APs to get into UVA.
You don't. DS sure didn't have those qualifications.
But it sure does help!
YMMV this year. Good luck to everyone!
