Yes, but "I got this $1k bracelet from my mom" -- where "from my mom" obviously means it was her mom's -- is a thing with southern sorority girls. It's a "my mother wears expensive jewelry" flex. It's basically an old-lady chic thing that is going to play well during rush at Bama, but not at McLean high school.

These days More than half of the girls at Bama are from out of state, and a quiteca bit percentage from the DMV mid Atlantic and Northeast

No input to the Kendra Scott suggestion, but I disagree with the bolded. the 14-year-olds are dressing and have similar style as the 18-year-olds. Damn, even the 12-year-olds are. my 17yo DD wears dainty gold jewelry layered - so about 3-4 necklaces or sometimes just 1. She mixes them up so 1 go-to quality piece would not work for us.

I tried to get her something similar once and she gladly accepted but I don’t think she wore it more than once. so last time I let her choose and she found some things at Nordstrom / Nordstrom Rack that fit her “vibe”

By my pp I meant that identifying if you are a silver or gold girl is like a whole thing to them.
