If I’m Melania, I’d stay near my son in NYC too. She was straight up abused by the press in Trump’s first term. I’d stay away from the hellhole DC to and live my life in peace too. Let Trump Trump.

I don't have any love for Melania, but I'll give her this - the job of first lady is entirely unpaid, and therefore entirely voluntary. IMO (as I am a raging feminist) Melania shouldn't have to do a job she isn't getting paid for and doesn't have any interest in. She can do as much as little as she wants as far as I care: the only thing is she should avoid actual or appearance of conflict, corruption or monetization of position.

I can see why, even if she plans on living in the WH and engaging as first lady, that she would feel no need to come to tea with the Bidens. She has lived in the WH before and there are no important policy issues for Jill Biden to hand off to her. There is nothing that can't be taken care of staff to staff. It's been a tradition because for decades we have not re-elected a previous president, so the first lady-elect had never before lived in the WH.

If she wants to spend part or all of her time in NY, she should do that. Until the American people pay the first (and second) lady an appropriate salary, we really have no right to ask them to lift a finger on behalf of the country.

Trump is saving Joe’s legacy by not releasing the damning laptop evidence and by pardoning Hunter. I think this is why Joe didn’t want to give up being President even though he couldn’t physically couldn’t handle it anymore. He was protecting his family by trying to keep the office.

Now Joe and Jill get to ride off into the sunset at the beach house knowing he can finally retire and Hunter and his legacy are safe.

This is the look of two men who have a deal that works for both of them and a bond based off that deal. These are real smiles and real happiness.
