These young college students made a huge mistake and they deserve some form of punishment, but I don't think that sending them to prison for years is going to help anything. These young men have a bright future ahead of them. They should be required to make restitution to the victim and also perform community service, preferably to the LGBT community. That way, they will learn that there are consequences to their actions.

This happened off campus. It did not happen in SU housing.
The crime was unrelated to SU other than the fact that some of the 15 males performing the assault were SU students.
