Im currently looking into egg donations for myself. Has anyone been able to conceive and carry to full term?

Whats the best routes to go? shared or not shared?

Please, do not be mean to potential donors. They go through a lot for not that much money. The gift is worth more than money. THANK YOU! our donor. Those being mean have no idea what these donor go through. It is not that pleasant.

Open donation was really not on horizon when we did DE. I probably would've wanted to go this route though not sure DH would've agreed. We have two lovely children and will always be grateful for the donor.

17:41, only one poster attacked the woman who said she felt SG put her at risk. Many of the other posters were quite positive about the women who donate. While I think the poster was unnecessarily rude to the woman who felt at risk, the poster is correct in that no one forced the donor to participate in the program.

I'm a recipient and I am sorry for your bad experience. I wasn't successful at Shady Grove and believe me they treat the recipients as bad as the donors once they have your money. I was never listened to and complaints (one very serious) were ignored. We were on the shared risk program and after three attempts they seemed to lose interest in me, probably because now the odds were no longer in their favor and they were losing money. Stay away, there are much better places where you are treated with respect and not like a battery hen.

I couldn't agree more about the negativity on this site about egg donors. The only way I could have a child was with the help of a donor. We went through Columbia Fertility and had NO complaints. We were fortunate to have 11 embryos. Two were transferred and we will be donating the remaining embryos; anonymously. Our donor was anonymous as well.
The nerve of some people to knock the donor programs! Honestly, get a life people.

It's my impression that most of the clinics do not encourage or allow open donation. So you might want to look into that a little more and see if you can find a clinic or an agency that will offer that. I know there are also on-line sites where you can find intended parents who are looking for egg donors.

PP this is not a forum to promote yourself to the highest bidder, but that being said there are a lot of recipient couples like my DH and I that would be interested in a proven donor. If you are on Dominion's egg donor list then we will review your profile, we are looking for an Asian donor.

PP, it seems to me that more and more people are interested in a non-anonymous donor, so they have the option of providing more information to their child(ren). I think it's worth looking into, particularly as it seems that non-Caucasian donors are much harder to find. Thanks for your generosity.

I'm a two time egg donor and I'm thinking of advertising directly to a recipient couple. Are their couples willing to do a cycle with a donor that's not anonymous? I'm a 26 year old Korean college student and I've donated at dominion Fertility.

so glad I found this thread before completing my application to be a donor, lot to consider.

DF is the best choice in the DC area if you want to donate, I did 2 cycles there and Dr DiMattina and the nurses were great.

I just applied to be an egg donor at SG but seeing this post gives me second thoughts. It looks like Columbia, Dominion or GIVF would be better.
