Many of the flight attendants were raised in blue collar or lower class homes where men ruled. They are used to cowtowing to men. Many never went to college...so are not that bright.

I can’t speak for gate agents, but I have so many female and gay coworkers who go out of their way to deliberately screw with business men, in particular, because they are so self-important, and who are quite protective of solo women travelers.

Just look at the incident that went viral when the pregnant wife of a pro baseball player was told by the flight attendants she needed to get on the ground to clean up all the popcorn her child spilled on a flight. Whether you want to characterize her as entitled or not, do you really think if it was a man traveling alone with a child they would have treated him the same way?

I mean, you’re only seeing a small sample that the media wants you to see. I fly sometimes 3-4 legs, 3-5 days a week. I can tell you FAs loathe the d*cky business man, or any man who is being a problem, child or not. People are so unbelievably entitled.

I'm so sick of all the carryon luggage travelers with their giant roller bags. They delay boarding, they delay deboarding and they think they have the right to move my backpack out of the bin that was there first because, why? Their bag full of crap is more important than my bag full of crap?

I would fully fully support NO roller bags on board, period. I know this will never happen so instead I support a very large fee for carryon bags and a much smaller (comparatively) fee for checked bags.

Are you also carrying a purse with personal items? While a man may have all his stuff ids passports in his carryon. Means you may be more willing to part with your carryon.

Omg, I cant believe someone is using this as an example of discrimination against women. If anything, it is entitlement of awful parents expecting other women to clean up after them (ie the FAs!). Your child makes a f***ing awful mess, and you expect other people to clean up after you? Do you expect the park ranger to clean up after your dog sh**s in the park too?

While I agree people should clean up their/their kids' mess (and I do), have you seen how people leave their seat areas? People are disgusting and leave so much trash on planes, you can see it when you disembark. I totally believe moms of kids are targeted more on planes: they typically won't fight back and are fun to have a power trip with. Nobody is telling gross first class men to pick up anything.

Do you often see popcorn all down the aisle in first class? That this was in the aisle where people need to walk makes the difference here. The aisle needs to be kept clear not full of your toddlers snacks which how did they get there anyway?

We were flying internationally and the carry on restrictions on the carrier were ridiculously tiny. We had carry ons that fit in big American planes but zero chance would fit in the metal sizer at the gate.

My husband closely observed how the gate agents were eyeballing roller bags and told our family to push the handles down into the bags…to make it appear smaller. We also formed a straight line and positioned our roller bags on our right side, away from the gate agent standing to our left.

Miraculously, we were able to carry on our admittedly oversized bags…which still easily fit into the overhead compartments.

The people getting hassled were carrying multiple bags and had bags attached or perched atop the roller bag.

Airlines can charge whatever they want. But they need to limit the number of carryons on board to the amount that will fit, without unfairly singling out and random passengers. Either they only sell a certain amount of tickets that allow rollaboards, or they limit it to the first X number of tickets sold or something. People should not have to guess if they actually can bring a carryon - they should know. And the desire to close/pushack the flight on time should not create stress for passengers who followed the rules.

All of this nonsense about charging for bags etc. can be traced to a 2010 IRS private letter ruling that determined fees aren't subject to passenger ticket taxes.
