So No, they are not legal immigrants. They do not have green cards. They are here under Temporary protected status. Yes, they are allowed to be here for now, but it is not implied they are legal immigrants who will be allowed to stay in the US when TPS runs out.

They are here legally. You may not like TPS, but it's a legal avenue to being in the country. Do you think the only legal immigrants are ones with green cards? There are people who come to the country on work visas and have to wait 10 years to get a green card? Are you implying they aren't legal immigrants??

There are many types of legal immigrants. They are allowed to be here under the law. They are therefore legal.

I think the majority feel the same. Still not voting for Trump.

The majority, perhaps, but clearly not the political elites who welcome illegal immigrants with housing, money, and (apparently) sex change surgeries.

You really think we are stupid enough to believe that the government is paying for sex change surgery for undocumented migrants??

Not now, but Kamala wants to make that the law when she’s elected. She’s on ads on television stating her support for taxpayer funded sex changes for prisoners and illegal immigrants.

+1
And to the OP - the issue is ILLEGAL immigration.

Stop gaslighting. You don’t want any more brown or Black people, legal or not, in your neighborhood, town, county, state, or country. Stop using your kids as political pawns for your bigotry. Kids don’t have a problem with new or different kids, unless their parents force them to. I say this as someone in 3rd grade in the South when our school was desegregated and as parent of 3 children who benefited from very diverse public schools. You guys are saying the same shit as every bigot in history.

But really? It seems like people I know who are not particularly affected by this issue are focused on it as a deciding factor in the election. It’s immigration, immigration, immigration.

Is immigration that terrible for our country? In my world at least, the most obvious related issue I see is that small businesses don’t have enough labor. So immigration is a good thing.

Maybe I’m myopic. Can someone please explain?

There are about two million legal immigrants every year. One million for green card lottery and more than that is green cards for family members.
Then there are illegal immigrants with a lot of people showing up on tourist or student visas and not leaving.
Biden/Harris on top of that are letting in millions more illegal immigrants every year. Many through parole, and an app where they don't show up at the border to claim asylum.
Or they claim asylum at the border, and they let them in with a court date that they may or may not shown up for, and it could be scheduled years in the future.
They are under no obligation to let them into the country, but they want to remake the US population to be more favorable to electing Democrats.

This is not discussed enough. Biden and Harris are letting almost 1,500 migrants schedule an appointment at our ports of entry every day - where they are not even screened for asylum. They are given parole, a work permit and released. They are also flying 30,000 migrants a month in and also giving them parole and a work permit. They are lawlessly creating immigration programs without the consent of Congress in order to bring more migrants here. They want to legalize them all, give them citizenship, and make them all Democrat voters - so that the public will never be able to vote them out of office. There will be so many illegals made citizens that Democrats will have permanent one party rule.

Anonymous wrote:People have been pissed about illegal immigration for years. Biden really f’d us by failing to secure the border. He didn’t address it until the eleventh hour when it was too late. It’s not like Democrats were going to sit home in this election had he come down hard on the issue. Trump knew he could win on immigration which is why he told the GOP to table the bi-partisan bill. It should have been the first issue that Biden addressed as part of his presidency. Instead he invited more illegal immigrants in. Thanks Biden!

I'm liberal and while I'm excited to vote for Harris, I do think Democrats have screwed up at the border and haven't done themselves any favors by trying to act like it wasn't an issue.

In NYC, it’s cash, Medicaid, and WIC. https://www.legalservicesnyc.org/resources/i-am-not-a-us-citizen-can-i-get-public-assistance-benefits-or-help/

did you read that? yes a non-citizen can get benefits but not an undocumented individual

“You do not need to be a US citizen or have status to receive these benefits”

To me, that reads as undocumented persons are eligible. What are you seeing that states something different?

You clearly did not read the entire link. There are restrictions as to who qualifies. Oh and this is ONE state, NY.

PP is full of it. I work with immigrants and they are not getting any special handouts. They barely have enough money to see a doctor or buy their medications.

What you are missing is legal vs illegal immigration.

It’s a big deal.

Legal immigration, we get people from other countries before they are allowed to come her. We need more doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers. We need many legal immigrants.

What we don’t need is 10 million migrants or illegal immigrants here claiming asylum. Most of these migrants don’t qualify and economic asylum is not a thing. If they were persecuted in their original country, once they left and hit places like Mexico, they are no longer in danger from the original claim.

And how many of these do we need to work in Fields picking produce. We have tens of thousands living in the cites doing nothing. Many are not educated and can barely speak or read Spanish. Where are they all to live as we also have a housing shortage?

So we need more legal immigrants and less migrants.

After the MAGA lying about the LEGAL Haitian immigrants in Ohio, I no longer buy the “we’re only against illegal immigration” line.

They are not legal immigrants with green cards.

They have TPS, Temporary Protected Status.

It’s only temporary status to allow them to stay in the US for a short period of time. It is not intended as a pathway to a green card or full legal status. It is implied that once the TPS runs out, they are to return to their home countries.

Are you the Wawa poster? Are you going around Springfield asking random Haitians if you can examine their immigration documents?

I think I’m starting to understand the whole immigration issue.

Brown/Black immigrants= illegal

Everybody else= legal

TPS does not imply lawful admission to the Untied States. When TPS runs out, the person reverts back to their original status. Which in many cases is illegal alien.

Supreme Court ruling noted.
