Are you married yet? You say you've met better people in person but you still haven't found someone...?
I met my husband via online dating (over 15 years ago...) and I found that I just had to be really picky about who I was willing to go out with. I have a ton of friends who also met their spouses through OLD, again, many years ago. Maybe the landscape has changed, and I don't doubt that there are possibly more people on it, which makes being picky even more important. As someone who was working a full-time job and otherwise living a busy social life, which my husband was also doing, but about 10 miles away from me, we would have never crossed paths had it not been for Match.

meh, I'm OK with young ladies. Calling them women makes them sound matronly.

I know he's surfed OLD sites but I think he likes meeting people the old fashioned way. It helps that he is very good looking, outgoing and a real gentleman. I don't ask him about his dating life but he stays very busy. FWIW - he has no interest in pickle ball! He says it's for out of shape old people who will soon tear an achilles.
An ignorant statement from an ignorant old guy. Over half of the professional PB players on the PPA tour were former ATP/WTA players. Even Scott Scheffler plays pickleball.
Yes, they got too old for serious tennis so they retired! A professional tournament last spring in Palm Springs had an Orthopedic Group as their lead sponsor. Pretty clever marketing on their part.
Orthopedics always advertise at sports. People get injured.

I see all of these comparisons to tennis, but who was playing tennis? I have courts near my house and they were empty and now there are regular meetups to play pickleball. Pickleball is not my main exercise to stay in shape, but it is fun to play and meet people.
When I was younger, I would play pickup games downtown of softball or kickball. Nobody is going to get in shape playing kickball or softball, but that was not the point. And I don’t remember everyone constantly saying we should all be playing baseball instead.

Can one not be both?
