Or people remove their kids when they are being loud. OP specifically wants her baby to put on a show for all the restaurant to observe as she and her spouse laugh, encourage, and seek out an audience for their baby’s antics. Nobody else is there to see the shouty bangy baby show that they didn’t ask for and may very well ruin their own dinner.

OP you might get fewer nasty responses if you posted this in infants and toddlers or general parenting.

OP, when the baby is loud, you take the baby outside. When the baby quiets down, you bring them back inside. That’s one way to teach boundaries.

As another poster said, we can rarely eat out, as it’s gotten so expensive since the pandemic. I can’t afford to take my children anywhere nice. I don’t want to listen to your baby while I’m enjoying Chipotle with my children.

When my oldest was a baby and we still lived in DC they LOVED him at our neighborhood Thai restaurant. We would go early and they would bring him a special little plate.

Agree with the poster who suggested Busboys and Poets; there are a few metro accessible locations including Brookland and Takoma. Irish/British pubs are often a good option. Elephant and Castle downtown is close to metro and near Smithsonian museums

Ha ha! I volunteer at a raptor rescue. I'd rather listen to raptors shrieking for five hours straight than a "shouty bangy" baby.

Baby in a restaurant is different than shouty bangy baby shouting and banging lots and mom dad and shout thinking it is FUN!

If you don't segue to using inside voice and no banging you are going to be spending every vacation eating takeout on picnic benches with other families giving you stink eye. Until they go to college. Or maybe high school if desire to get laid makes shouty bangy realize its a turnoff.
