My kid with 1270, 3.9 UW, About 6 APs, and a combo of sports & arts awards was turned down from Fordham. Also a legacy.

Keep your options open!

Fordham is also expensive re: lifestyle. A bagel in Philly or Baltimore is not as pricy as a bagel in NYC. Multiple that by Ubers, water, salads, coffee, movies....

+1 Not to mention off campus housing and entertainment!

Arent they pretty close in size? DS is considering Loyola due to being closer to home now too- glad we applied!

Loyola alum with a kid currently at Loyola. Loyola is smaller with appr. 4,000 undergrads. SJU has appr. 4,800 undergrads. Honestly, the schools were remarkably similar, even down to the campuses. They both have a pedestrian bridge to connect the mostly academic side of the campus to the residential part. My DS got great merit aid at both. We visited SJU in the summer which was a mistake. It was pretty dead so when we went back for admitted students day, he always had a meh memory of it. I liked them both equally.
