No. It used to be pretty local, then when Trump became Prez, it was clear that it was no longer local.

Every thread has its constant refrain: you are a bad parent/feel sorry for your children/your children have some deficit and it’s your fault (this one spans many fora); you should divorce; your relationship problems are your fault; you are fat; your clothes are ugly and you must shop at Talbot; you are a terrible pet owner; you are one of the poors, etc etc.
Only a few fora are 99% safe. I’m not naming them so they stay that way

What? No way. Outside of the royals threads, Entertainment is a welcome respite to the bickering in other forums, especially the ones dedicated to schools.
The constant analysis celebrity appearances in entertainment is really rough.. More difficult to read than the snark debating ideas in other forums

Because people say the nastiest things about public figures, celebrities and politicians who aren't even there to defend themselves.
In the other forums, we just fight each other.
The meanest bothers me the least in Entertainment because it is people who have chosen to be in the public eye with all that entails.
No, their chosen profession happens to have brought them into the public eye. It's the other way round. It is massively unfair and cruel to think you're allowed to bully someone just because you think they wanted the attention or started out in their job knowing it would lead to this.
You aren't allowed to bully anyone. Start with that rule of thumb.

They chose a job to match their talents/ strengths. Those jobs happen to be in the public eye - they don’t have a choice in that respect. They are literally just still people, and so many others forget that. They are people that are good at singing, acting, making art. And art is something that makes humanity better. But so many people feel entitled to comment on everything about them because they have a particular job. That’s pathological.
Being cruel because they’re in the public eye is a very weird sense of entitlement.
I’m going to have to disagree with all on all of this. No one is tearing apart Cate Blanchett on DCUM.

Those people are equally matched with the people insisting everyone who cares about health has an eating disorder or is an almond mom.
