Np, I agree with this. Maybe because I am a late Gen Xer, but I like chivalry from men-- even men who are just friends. I think it's super sweet that he cares about your safety.

I am also late gen x and think the opposite. It isn't chivalry it is being pushy

I’m also a late Gen X woman and think whether it is sweet or pushy depends on the context. If OP’s responses to this point have been along the lines of “oh, you don’t have to do that,” he might not realize she doesn’t want him to walk her home. If she’s been clear (e.g. “no I would really rather walk alone”), then he’s being pushy.
