This excites “centrists” like OP! Then he can smile and roll his eyes and say “politicians, they’re all the same, right?”

People like OP are tiny little attention seekers. The gen x of wannabe influencers, the same kind of pointlessness as dancing on a golf course, tap dancing for likes and subscribes. And all as the GOP wants to kill democracy (and makes no secret of it).

It’s… weird.

Speaking of weird ^^. That’s a whole post of weird.

Look at her record and not her sex and race. She must be doing something right because there are fewer PG County resident cheats attending DC public and charter schools. I guess the PG residents are trusting their skills more to teach their children and not relying on DC to do it.

And what if Trump wins, you nitwit. You like an entire MAGA government?

Hogan isn't MAGA. From MAGA perspective, it's better to have a Senate without Hogan. unless he is the 50th vote, and probably not even then.

Wrap it up any way that makes you feel good about your decision. McConnell recruited Hogan to run and is helping to finance Hogan's campaign.

As a resident of PG County, I beg to differ. Alsobrooks has made much more of a positive impact on our lives in PG County than Hogan did as governor. And don't get me wrong, I voted for Hogan twice. But Alsobrooks has been a great county executive. She has decreased crime, invested in our school infrastructure so that kids have a better chance at getting a useful education. She has made a positive impact on government contracting at the county level and rebuilding the police forces and addressing systemic racism in the county police forces.

Hogan had roller coaster full of ups and downs. He had some good successes, but also had a fair number of very costly missteps. Alsobrooks has a much cleaner record than Hogan did. And Alsobrooks will not allow approval of more conservative judges and justices into the judicial system. Alsobrooks will work against MAGA Republicans stonewalling the Senate. Alsobrooks will be able to work with the Democratic Party, while Hogan will be made voiceless in the Republican party. He will be a rubberstamp vote, but otherwise will be ignored. We need a Senator who will be able to work for Maryland not just be a rubberstamp for the Republican caucus. We had Mikulski and then Cardin who have worked tirelessly for the benefit of Maryland. We need more than Hogan in the Senate. Even if you like Hogan, his standing in the Republican party will not help Maryland. Alsobrooks standing in the Democratic party will work for Maryland.

I like Hogan. I’d vote for him for other offices, but giving the GOP another vote in the senate, no.

If Hogan is a centrist, as his record shows, why do you think he would vote for anything far right? Has he while MD Governor? He knows who elected him and who he would be representing.

You people need counting lessons.

It doesn’t matter what Hogan says. By caucusing with the Republicans, he gives MAGA control of the Senate and the power to set the agenda. That’s bad.

Sadly, while I liked Hogan as our governor I am unable to vote for him for our Senate as right now with the number of crazy Republicans in the Senate I cannot be one to give Republicans a majority. So I will 100% be voting Harris, and also voting Hogan for MD senate. I hope both win! Not looking forward to Harris hiking my taxes...

Who else is in the same camp?

So you're voting for Harris and also voting to potentially make it impossible for her to get anything done? Sure, makes sense to me.

The house is not flipping to the Dems, so it would not be controlled by one party. Considering the senate is the busy that decides on which judges would be confirmed, I find it horrifying that we get more and more judges like the judge in Texas that can shut down anything, like he did with the abortion pill, with a stroke of a pen. People talk about the SCOTUs, but the appellate and district court federal judges are far more important and it would be a shame for McConnell and company to stack those courts greater than they already have. Hogan would vote right along the republicans line. People did not learn anything from Collin and Murkowski.

The House is definitely flipping to Dem. I work for a political org and no one is arguing otherwise. The Senate is shaky. We need the Senate more!

How do you figure that it’s worse for MAGA to have Hogan in the Senate than Alsobrooks? Because that’s the choice MD voters are making. Obviously, MAGA would rather have Hogan.
