Has DH spoken the words, "I/we would prefer you don't" You two are allowed a preference. It may or may not be honored. You may or may not have a babysitter. You are allowed to speak. She is allowed to ask.

Have an adult conversation.

This. At a minimum, they both have terrible judgement to even think that asking you for this is okay. I would not want the MIL in charge of my kids ever again. It sounds like she’s getting dementia.
