In this case though, full fears of a recession are settling in. It's absolutely the macroeconomy blowing up that is causing the global markets to implode. Jobs numbers in the US were far worse than expected. The US may already be in a recession.

Which is why the soft landing would be such a gift. The Fed needed to ease up on rates last meeting and didn't. They need to do it in September at the latest
