How is this making it easier on the server? It doesn't seem like it is making it easier on the staff overall, the server has to tell the bartender to time the second drink.

Lately when we are seated and order drinks and apps, he will order our drinks, apps, and also request that a second round be brought out with the apps. He says he’s making it easier on the server. But it just seems like he wants to quickly suck down his first cocktail and have it swooped away and a fresh one arrives with apps ten or so minutes after sitting at the restaurant. If nothing else it feels a bit tacky to essentially double order booze right when we’re seated?
Neither but you sound like you’re tightly wound. I used to work in food service. I’m built to order efficiently. It’s why my kid is halfway through his meal when I order mine.

I have about one alcoholic drink per month, and I generally take a sip right after it is set on the table.
This is uncouth and low class, just an FYI.

It makes him preoccupied with alcohol for sure.
Definitely giving vibes to the waitress that you’re trying to get bombed.
