Since you're a SAHM, who not give yourself and the kids a vacation sometime, for a new experience?

Camp is not a vacation experience

Ok I have absolutely no opinion on whether SAHMs should or should not put their kids in camp but I will say, I'm pretty sure my kids think camp is better than vacation. If I gave them a choice of a week with us on vacation, or a week at their favorite summer day camp, I think they'd pick camp. Depends on the vacation I guess.

My kids would never choose camp over vacation.

Yeah, no way. My kids love family vacations. But we don’t take as many as a lot of people on DCUM seem to—we usually do one week vacation in summer, 1 week in spring for spring break, and a long weekend in fall for fall break. My kids would be upset if I signed them up for camp during one of those vacations.

If I were going to take a one week vacation - I wouldn’t put the kids in camp. If somehow I wanted to go to a place for two weeks or more - which I have considered but never done - I would do a camp for one of the weeks etc - no different than summer camp at home.

Evening bible school? That sounds… awful

Also, exhausted from… bible school? What exactly were they doing there?

I've never sent my kids, but from an outsider perspective, VBS seems often to be about 80% - 90% camp activities and 10% - 20% Jesus-y stuff. Often pretty watered down Jesus, too.

Pay attention to this post!

Her post makes no sense. What kind of camps consist of a bunch of friends? Weird.
