And these are located on New Hampshire Blvd. Anywhere else, it's pricy.
I’m one of the PPs and that’s the part of Takoma Park that TP residents pretends doesn’t exist. That’s actually my issue with TP.

We were driving through TkPk the other day and we saw a 60ish yo woman walking down the street, wearing a purple tie dyed t-shirt and army green shorts, holding a gig bag. I said to my husband “if that isn’t quintessential Takoma Park, I don’t know what is.”

This is true and false. Those white collar families chose to live with the hippies because they enjoy it and mostly agree with them.

I agree with the prior poster - that is why we live in TP. SS is not interchangeable.
That’s what people say because they are defensive about the fact that my family has the same lifestyle even while living across the street from the actual TKP border. They have the privilege to pay more taxes so that they can feel superior to me. Cool.

TP resident for 30 years. What most distinguishes TP is its high property taxes. We have the heaviest property tax burden in MD.

I think people forget how big Takoma Park is. But there is that downtown area with all of the natural yards and large houses with ‘art’ in the front lawn. Those neighborhoods do fit the description in OP’s post.
I will also say from anecdotal experience I think those neighborhoods also forget that Takoma Park is bigger than just their neighborhoods.
