Only a few times a year do I have them. I keep a couple in the freezer for nights I have to work late. I do enjoy Stouffer's mac and cheese for childhood memories, as well as Trader Joe's mac and cheese and Amy's burritos or pad thai.

I put flour in the freezer for at least 48h to kill weevil eggs.

Whole-wheat flour goes bad pretty quickly; it lasts longer in the freezer.

I know this because I cook. Unless I'm getting takeout or eating frozen food.

TJ frozen meals are stacked in our chest freezer. We always keep a supply for quick and easy meals after arriving late from the airport, hungry boys between meals, base for building a bigger dish, ex add chickpeas, paneer to chicken tikka masala, etc.

My husband lives off of these. The boomer Stouffer's ones -- Salisbury steak, meatloaf, turkey dinner, etc.

Before anyone calls me out for being a horrible spouse, it's what he wants. I wish he wanted real dinner more often, but he doesn't. He wants to be able to microwave it and eat it and it only takes minutes. He says he "doesn't care about food." He's super fit, so I try not to worry about it. He eats no snack food to speak of, only fruit for snacks.

I don't know. Nothing I can do about it.

The interesting thing about McDonald's food is that it is already shelf-stable. Those fries are practically immortal.

And more on topic, Costco does have an interesting selection of prepared meals, including some frozen. I could make lasagna, but Costco's frozen lasagna heats and cooks in 40 minutes. Make a slice or two of garlic bread from their fresh sourdough, and that's pretty good.
