My son is 17 nearly 18 and refuses to wear it. It means that by the end of a hot day he literally smells like a horse.

I worked in South Asia for a few years. Many local people do not wear deodorant. I will never forget the overpowering reek of BO in shops and on streets. If I ever had any doubts that deodorant worked, these were firmly quashed after living among people who didn't wear deodorant. Deodorant works and there is a reason we use it.

Definitely not Indians for the reason above.

My husband never gets out funk. Ever. And he works out hard, works in the yard. He rarely uses do. Other family members of his are similar—my sons- 18 & 16 no way in hell they reek if they don’t use deodorant, and the natural deo isn’t enough for them either.

I’m white and never use deodorant, I shower 2x a day and immediately after working out. Never had any complaints even from people who aren’t afraid to be brutally honest with me

I think I could (and often do) get away with not wearing it. Been married 30 years and my wife will tell you I just don’t smell. I exercise regularly and often take two showers a day during the warmer months.
