You can think what you want, but a large number of ASD individuals play video games for hours. Video games are often used as rewards for ASD students.

I have a friend whose DH is unemployed (has been for years) and plays video games for hours every day. Oh, and their kids go to daycare. Nope. He's nice enough, but I could never stay married to a man who contributes so little to the family. His wife has the patience of a saint.

This is a poor example. The husband could have any addiction: drugs, alcohol, gambling, eating Are you saying one glass of wine is bad? Taking tylenol is bad? If you are addict that's what you blame.. Not the video games which we used to play Mario party and Kart. So much fun! But we play in moderation.

As far as attraction, yeah there is nothing attractive about a grown man wearing a headpiece entranced by the screen and ignoring you. lol It seems to be serving a purpose though in my DH.

I'm a mom whomplays video games. Decades ago, before marriage and kids my DH and I would play video games for hours over weekends, before going out. Then we would wake up hungover and play for hours again. It was so much fun.
We still try to do it but it's difficult to find enough time to play together. He plays his games, I play my games. We do it after kids are down and chores are done. It is a past time. It is no different than watching smt on netflix or knitting or woodworking.

+1. OP posts on Dcurbanmom but video games are bad.

My H is a successful and fully employed adult who enjoys playing video games. He likes the puzzles of trying to figure them out. He'll play online with his brothers, it's a way for them to hang out. I think it's also an escape for him, like currently one of his brothers is very ill and he's been playing in order to not have to face the possible outcomes.

My H also plays with our son. They play games together, and will discuss strategies or things to try. It's a bonding thing for them. He's thinking of building a game computer from scratch so that our kid can learn what goes into a computer and what each part does and how they work.

He doesn't play all the time and it doesn't interfere with life at all. It's one of his hobbies and I'm glad he models moderation for our son. I'm not into video games at all and it's fine. I'm happy they have something they do together and talk about. My son and I have a shared interest in something that my H has zero interest in... and it's all good.
