An NCSL d 1 or 2 I would argue is often similar level to EDP 1 or 2. After that it’s not quite 1 to 1.

That’s not even remotely true. Maybe there’s a rare good team that would he good enough for EDP 1 or 2, but in general, EDP 1 is far, far better than NCSL 1 and EDP 2 is far, far better than NCSL 2.

NCSL is very competive. Some clubs don’t have the ability or results (yet) for higher level leagues and they have their top teams playing here. SAM select has good teams but the level even at higher division is sporadic. An NCSL d 1 or 2 I would argue is often similar level to EDP 1 or 2. After that it’s not quite 1 to 1.

I don't know how much clearer I can say it. In each older age group, there's one ECNL team and one ECNL R team. Younger ages might call it pre-ECNL or something similar. Lower teams play in lower leagues.
Every club's website has the information on their specific teams.

The clubs don't specify which team plays in what league at the younger ages. The clubs list the leagues, but rarely state which team plays where... one can surmise that A team will play the most challenging league and team D will play the least, but it's never clear beforehand.

Is there enough room on the local mlsn and ecnl girls teams for all the local players who are starter material?

Not sure exactly what you mean but it’s extremely competitive. BSC is the only show in MoCo at those levels though Achilles does some MoCo for MLSN. There’s no other ECNL girls.

Absolutely there’s room to start on other clubs if you can’t crack BSC and willing to go farther. Just depends on the age. For example plenty of 2010-12 girls wouldn’t see the field at BSC but could start for Pipeline, MD United, Fairfax Union, etc.

So “enough room” is context dependent. There’s room but maybe not at BSC or let’s say, for example, 2011 Arlington girls.

Only teams 1 and 2 play ECNL/R. The rest is a disorganized money grab.

There's no such thing as starter material. There are a certain number of slots on the best teams, and the teams try to find the best players for those slots. In some age groups, those players are better than in other age groups. MLSN and ECNL teams vary in quality between programs as well. So I'm not really sure how to anser that question.

Doesn't mean that EDP is going to fold, but it's not a destination for top players any more.

I’d also argue EDP (at least on the girls side in MoCo), and especially NL, is for people who don’t want BSC ECNL/RL for any number of reasons. Playing time, less travel, less money, less pressure, more positive environment, no college interest, other sports. Plenty of reasons for someone in MoCo to not choose BSC even if they can make it.

But yeah it’s not like someone who is a clear starter for MLSN or ECNL girls is likely to play EDP. Absolutely correct for the dedicated, elite players. EDP is not the top nowadays or even close.

BSC has multiple teams. Do all teams play in ECNL for girls?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Programs that have ECNL generally have one team per age group in ECNL and one in ECNL R.

BSC has 4-5 teams for each age group. Do all teams play ECNL? Or do they go to different leagues? How to find that information out (w/o asking the program director)?
