Oh please most dance competitions or cheerleading are not about seeing the human body in the way you suggest. While I personally do not think it is shameful and could care less whether someone puts their daughters on one of these so called teams. I guess team in working together, however there is really no reason the outfits are the way they are or the makeup. Like the makeup makes one participate in the sport better LOL no.

I can’t speak for cheer, but for dance, all of your features are washed out in bright stage lighting without makeup on.

My granddaughter is turning six next month. She started talking a class last year, a few months before she turned five. She wanted to "try" poms to set if she liked it... she did! She tried it for the studio's competition team, and mage the team. I can agree that it's not cheap but all the costs were laid out up front. They only practice once/ week for an hour, will be using the same three costumes all season, and there's only one competition a month for six months. At her level they're aren't any national competitions, they're all fairly local. The older girls compete in two national competitions/ year and they win championships. We had competition last weekend and every team from our studio won 1st place for every routine and division that they competed in. Our studio also has male dancers. The studio does not advertise fame and fortune either. They facilitate fun and positivity. I guess we're blessed to live an area that has a such a wholesome and honest studio, and they win!
