My assumption was this wasn’t allowed but it seems if others are allowing it why not FCV?

Still clueless. Most of the new coaches are clueless. I've seen the new players and they suck. The DR favorites also suck. I predict a wakeup call by the GA 2 players moving up that your dream of playing at a higher level will be short lived. 1-2 girls may survive but most will be going up against a brick wall next year.

Is this the same parent that keeps trash talking children? Or is this a club taking about children like this? I would love to know because I wouldn’t allow my kids to step foot near you. Let’s put some things in perspective.

1. At the national level , VA can’t compete.
2. At the international level, US can’t compete.
3. Most players will not make a career out of this.
4. Many players will not get a free ride to college.
5. Your obsession is misplaced and irrelevant. And really creepy.

I think what you fail to grasp and probably never will is that not everyone sees this beautiful sport or youth soccer through your vile and pathetic perspective.

You failed with #1 in your list. FCV 07 and FCV 06 won nationals championships the past two years.

That's backwards.

The U-17s were runners-up in the first U-17 World Cup in 2008. It was 14 years before they made it back to the quarterfinals in 2022, where they lost to Nigeria.

The U-20s won the first one in 2002 and won again in 2008 and 2012. Since then? Quarterfinals in 2014, fourth place in 2016, group stage in 2018, group stage in 2022. (2020 was canceled.)

Part of the problem is that we spend way more on national team salaries (women AND men) than other countries, who instead focus on developing the next generation.

And part of the problem is that we spend a ton of time on bogus "national championships" instead of just playing competitive games.

“National youth championships in the USA are the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard in my life.” - Horst Bertl, who played in the Bundesliga and the NASL before settling in Dallas to run a youth club that was eventually folded into FC Dallas.

No one becomes a better soccer player on an airplane. You become a better player by playing. FCV's players would be better off skipping the airports and playing a couple more games against Loudoun and Arlington. (Not that such a thing would actually happen.)

THIS.

Fair point for those families that don’t want to go for the reasons stated above. I agree completely.

But it falls flat for me if you say it’s too expensive but you were one of the families that blew it up in the first place by prioritizing Seattle with VDA. Or you say you are worried about playing time or positioning or fitting with new coaches or a few different kids that FCV might bring along to California but you blew it up in the first place by joining a whole new team to play for the first time in Seattle with VDA. Or if you don’t want to go to California because FCV can’t compete at a high level since the team won’t be prepared - but you haven’t been to practice in a month.

If that’s you just go. No hard feelings. But these coaches have enough to deal with. Not fair for them to think about you for even a minute.

Blame on VDA for letting the new players go to playoffs - unfair for the current players.

That's pretty low for VDA to tell some of their current players, that they will not be rostered for playoffs, or have seriously reduced playing time, in order to make room for these new FCV players that are joining next season?

VDA treats players leaving like s—, whether they want them back or not. They are worse about it than the other big clubs. Not sure why that isn’t common knowledge on this board, but has been the case with their current leadership for years.

+1000 vda is the most toxic club in nova.
bp cleaning house… this will change

More like BP getting handed the keys to an already great program that he can take credit for building. Just like he did at FCV.

all this….. we need more consolidation in teams and an indoor facility for year round play to keep up

No we do not. 1 may or not be true but who cares. Two is not true at all USYNT cleans up at all age levels -- problem is USWNT. 3 is right as is 4. That is why we do not need consolidation. ECNL and GA is all about getting ready to play in college -- not pro except for maybe 50 girls a year where that is possible. System works fine for what it is intended to do. If you want to play pro -- great but that is not really an option for almost all. College is what people are shooting for. And there may be little or no college money.

Yes, as long as the additions were ahead of the ECNL roster freeze date. I think even after that, they can add two to the roster who are joining for next season.
wow.. til

That would piss me off if my kid was on a team that earned seattle n walk ons show up at the 13th hr.

Let's not point fingers at kids. Every coach likely has their 'faves' it's just when it becomes painfully obvious that certain ones can do no wrong under a certain coach is when it's an issue, especially within a team environment. Players won't respect you if there's no consistency in how you treat them from one player to the next.
yes especially if that team isn’t winning or having a decent showing with the coaches playing favorites. And that may be why dmv futbol gets left in the dust nationally…

This is very true. If the team is losing because the coach favors certain players who aren't performing, the whole team suffers.

I’m just looking forward to going to Seattle to see what the other teams look like outside of Va. VDA has a 2 secret weapons with the twins.
