Normally I would be very wary of saying something like this given how rampant misogyny is in the workplace and elsewhere, but with this OP — I’m thinking the same thing you are.

+1. I was with you 100% until you said Catholic priests hit on you. I’m a 50 year old lifelong Catholic woman, with a family member that attended a Catholic college with young seminarians. You are not what they are interested in. And again, I’m Catholic so don’t come at me with your bigot bs.

Oh come on. I’m Catholic too and I’ve watched the nuns who pass through our parish oogle my husband every time he volunteers for children’s church. I haven’t seen a priest do this but that doesn’t mean it never happens.

My cousins are Episcopalian and I went to church with them once and got hit on by a priest of the same gender. She saw my silver shoes and thought that meant I was gay. I corrected her and moved on.

Priests are people too.

Sure, Jan.

TROLL you are not the only woman that deals with this. Learn to ignore it or be assertive and stick up for yourself like all the other attractive women do everyday.

I’m very pleasant generally, but I will absolutely come for you if you try anything. You have to be willing to say things that feel uncomfortable to say in response:

“don’t touch me.”, with a very hard stare until they remove their hand apologize.

Staring them down with absolutely 0 verbal response when they say something inappropriate. Wait for the apology to come.

“I must have misheard you.” Or “did you really just say that?” Blank stare or look of disgust while they back away from the conversation.

Practice in the mirror.

I’m kind of a butterface, but I am thin and have long blonde hair. In my early 20s I was harassed constantly. I am very shy and quiet.

I’m not exaggerating, almost every older male at a job would harass or be inappropriate with me. One was even forced to apologize by HR (which only compounded the problem). A bystander reported him for me.

I think some of us are just targets for this behavior. People can just smell the weakness and vulnerability.

I had many other girls around my age who didn’t experience any harassment (working in the same environment as me). So I always wondered why ME. And I considered the other girls cute too. I think perhaps I smiled too much and seemed nervous all the time, so men viewed me as flirtatious and shy. I also think my appearance (having long blonde hair and makeup) made men view me as attention seeking or insecure

These men go after the weakest of the herd. Sleazy men don’t go after the prettiest or coolest, they go after the weakest—the least likely to fight back, and the ones with the least self esteem.

Agree. Troll OP aside.
Don’t be a weakling mark.
